Our Golden Connection: Mary & Patricia

At Golden Harmony, some of the most meaningful connections are built through shared conversations, common interests, and genuine companionship. Mary and Patricia are a wonderful example of that special bond.

Mary joined Golden Harmony after moving to North Carolina from Massachusetts four years ago. She is the proud mother of three children and grandmother to six grandchildren, who bring her so much joy.

Before becoming a caregiver, Mary spent more than 24 years owning a successful pizza and sub restaurant in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Later, she fulfilled another dream by opening and working as a barista in her own coffee shop. Her years of serving others naturally led her to caregiving, where she enjoys building relationships with her clients.

Mary loves engaging in conversation, helping clients stay organized, and encouraging physical activity whenever possible. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends, cooking, and watching sports, movies, and the news.

Patricia originally grew up on Long Island, New York, and enjoyed an accomplished 17-year career as an investment banker with Paine Webber. Throughout her life, she has traveled extensively around the world, creating unforgettable memories along the way.

Among her favorite destinations are Tokyo and Hong Kong, and her home beautifully reflects her love of Asian culture with its Asian-inspired décor. Australia is another favorite destination, and one of Patricia’s lifelong goals has been experiencing the Seven Wonders of the World.

Today, Patricia enjoys good conversation, delicious home-prepared meals, watching television, and following sports. She is an avid tennis fan and rarely misses cheering on the Yankees. Patricia often expresses gratitude for the wonderful life she has lived. She shared many happy years with her loving husband, who passed away four years ago. She now lives in North Carolina to be close to her son and his family after relocating from Virginia.

Mary and Patricia have formed a wonderful friendship built on conversation, shared interests, and companionship. Whether they’re talking about sports, discussing world travels, or simply enjoying time together over a meal, they brighten each other’s days.
