Celebrating the special bond between client and caregiver

From the vibrant culture of New Mexico to international assignments with the Department of State, Dee has led a remarkable life shaped by travel, service, and family. Her journey—including time living in Uruguay and raising two daughters with strong cultural awareness—reflects her deep appreciation for global experiences and meaningful relationships.

After working for the U.S. government and alongside her husband, Dee eventually made the decision to age in place—one that led her to Golden Harmony.

That’s where Wendy came in.

“I didn’t find Wendy—she found me,” Dee says with a warm smile. When Dee and her family began exploring senior living options versus aging in place, her daughter reached out to Golden Harmony. From the first meeting, it was clear that Wendy was a perfect fit. “She’s one of those special people you meet once in a lifetime. Friendly, efficient, and confident—Wendy manages to smile even in tough situations.”

For Wendy, caregiving is more than a job. Previously a quality inspector for a medical company, she made the switch to senior care in search of deeper purpose. Today, she refers to her clients as “friends” and takes pride in building genuine connections. In her downtime, Wendy enjoys walking, biking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

The mutual respect and ease between Dee and Wendy is something rare. “We seem to get along so well,” Dee reflects. “Everyone I’ve spoken to at Golden Harmony has been nice, and Wendy is truly one of a kind.” Dee, who has lived a life full of unique experiences and values honesty and understanding in relationships, sees Wendy as someone who embodies both.

As Dee wisely puts it: “Some people are made delicately, and some are not. Being honest makes all the difference.”
