Karl’s Journey to Golden Harmony

Karl’s story begins in Chicago, where he grew up before meeting his wife, Debra, at a university in Indiana. After marrying and moving to New Jersey, his career brought them to North Carolina, where Karl fell in love with the weather—his favorite part of the state.

Reflecting on their time with Faith, Debra shares, “Faith has an incredible sense of humor, and a great skill set. What really stands out is her calm, collected attitude. She has this ‘I’ve got this under control’ approach, which makes me feel comfortable and at ease with Karl’s care.” They are also grateful for Faith’s confidence, which provides peace of mind to both Debra and the family. “We know Faith can handle whatever comes our way,” Debra says.

Karl’s proudest achievements are his career success, the ability to provide for his family, and the pride he takes in raising his two daughters. He also reflects on his journey toward wellness, noting his determination to keep trying and never give up. When asked about relationship advice, Karl emphasizes communication, saying, “Don’t shy away from tough conversations. Be realistic about expectations and always be open with others.”

Faith’s Journey with Golden Harmony

Faith’s path to Golden Harmony began when she was a student working toward her CNA certification. After completing her in-person clinicals, she knew she wanted to gain more experience working with seniors, leading her to this fulfilling role. “I’ve always felt a passion for caregiving, and Golden Harmony felt like the perfect place to grow,” she says.

For Faith, the best part of working with Karl is hearing him laugh. “It’s so heartwarming to hear Karl laugh and still enjoy life. I truly enjoy his company, and I’ve learned so much from him along the way.” Faith has a deep connection with Karl, not just as a caregiver, but as a friend. She often recommends Golden Harmony to others, encouraging new caregivers to take things one step at a time. “Don’t overthink it—you’ll be helpful just by being present,” she advises.

Outside of her role at Golden Harmony, Faith is continuing her education to become an ultrasound tech. She also enjoys spending time with her two tabby cats, Charlie and Chloe, and makes sure to prioritize time with friends and family whenever she can.
