Golden Connection: Kelly and Lucienne

At Golden Harmony, we celebrate the meaningful bonds between our clients and companions. This month, we’re highlighting the wonderful connection between Lucienne and her companion, Kelly.

Lucienne’s journey brought her to Raleigh from Louisiana three years ago to be closer to family. Knowing she would need support in her two-story home, she found Golden Harmony—and ultimately, Kelly. “I’ve worked with Kelly over a year now. She’s absolutely exceptional.”

Lucienne appreciates Kelly’s reliability and dedication. “Her work ethic is impeccable—she’s never late and always follows through. She anticipates what needs to be done before I even realize it. She makes my life easier and more pleasant every day.” One of her fondest memories is from the holidays, when Kelly braved the cold to gather tree branches for Christmas decorations. “That’s definitely not in her job description, but she goes out of her way to make me happy.”

A retired teacher of 55 years, Lucienne holds Kelly in the highest regard. “I’d put her up there with the best of anyone I’ve worked with or for. She’s cheerful, outgoing, and makes everyone around her feel good.” Lucienne’s life experiences have taught her to embrace change and respect others. With her background in art education, she loves all things music, drama, theatre, and film. She says, “any form of art can be the catalyst to meaningful change.” And her advice for strong relationships? “Be on time—it shows respect. And be kind to everyone, no matter their role.”

Kelly’s background as an X-ray technician for 25 years led her to senior care, where she thrives. “My clients are so wise—I love the perspective they bring. I gravitate toward helping people and anticipating their needs. Whether it’s a small task or a big one, I feel fulfilled knowing I’ve made their day easier.”

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys journaling and is part of a writing group. She’s also a devoted cat owner—her chatty feline companion, Sushi, keeps her company.

The connection between Lucienne and Kelly is a testament to the heart of Golden Harmony—caring, companionship, and a shared appreciation for life’s moments, big and small.
