Michelle & Lenny: A Special Connection

By Published On: August 14, 2026Categories: Golden Connection

This month, we are excited to spotlight our wonderful caregiver-client duo, Michelle and Lenny. Michelle has loved being Lenny’s companion and has truly enjoyed getting to know him — not just as a client, but as a person and now friends.

Before joining Golden Harmony, Michelle spent 20 years working in medical billing before moving into accounting and bookkeeping. She currently works part-time in accounting for an auto dealership. She brings her professional experience, warmth, and genuine curiosity to her work with Lenny. Clients who meet Michelle always adore her visits!

One of the things Michelle loves most about being Lenny’s companion is hearing about his past and stories and getting to know him on a personal level. Their visits are filled with conversation and the opportunity to learn more about each other.

Lenny grew up in Flushing, New York. From 18 to 22, he worked in a machine shop making parts for ships. He is one of six siblings and currently has two sisters. Lenny’s wife passed away 36 years ago. Lenny is lucky to have his son Richard and treasured daughter in law Lory nearby in North Carolina.

Lenny enjoys the simple things in life, including spending time at home with his tractor, his hi-fi stereo, and his collection of model airplanes—he has 24! He also enjoys visiting family in Newport, Rhode Island. Lenny has a true engineers mind and enjoys all he has done with his stereo equipment! Lenny can also be found feeding deer in his yard each afternoon.

When asked what he enjoys most about Michelle’s visits, Lenny said he really enjoys talking with her. Since he doesn’t get out much, their conversations are something he looks forward to and truly appreciates. He reports that Golden Harmony service is GREAT (in a Tony the Tiger voice).

Michelle is a mom of five and has been remarried since 2019. Michelle has 2 children currently living in Charlotte. One of her stepchildren will be playing soccer at Coker College this year.   She enjoys concerts, movies, reading, and traveling when she is not working. At home, she has two dogs, Luke and Camille, as well as three pet ducks—two Blue Swedish ducks and one Peking.

What makes Michelle and Lenny such a wonderful spotlight duo is the genuine connection they have developed. Their relationship is a great example of what companionship is all about: conversation, friendship, laughter, and taking the time to truly get to know one another.

We are so grateful to have both Michelle and Lenny as part of the Golden Harmony family!
